About Me, Shari Cutting
I am a licensed Real Estate Broker in Wilmington, North Carolina. I am an award-winning Broker and I've been passionate about real estate since 1989.
I am proud to say that I've achieved distinction as a Member of the Multi-Million Dollar Club, Honor Society, and received designations as an Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR), Accredited Luxury Home Specialist (ALHS) and Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE). I have also served on the Board of Directors for Cape Fear Realtors, the Finance Committee, and Luxury Home Council.
I represent the best and brightest in the industry, and I'm always striving to lead the field in research, innovation, and consumer education. Today’s buyers and sellers need a trusted resource that can guide them through the complex world of real estate. With my extensive knowledge and commitment to providing only the best and most timely information to my clients, I am your go-to source for real estate industry insight and advice.
My Education & Experience
I graduated from Texas Tech University and earned my BA in Advertising with an emphasis in Marketing. In 1986, I opened a Custom Home Building business in Atlanta Georgia. I learned very quickly how to hire to my weakness, listen to ideas of others and, most importantly, negotiate. Within a few years of opening my construction business it only made sense for me to obtain my Georgia Real Estate License. My marketing education, construction knowledge and competitive negotiating skills helped me achieve millions of dollars in real estate transactions. In 2008, my husband and I moved to Wilmington, North Carolina.
My Core Values
My core values of compassion, strength, patriotism, diversity, discipline and honesty were strongly influenced by my military lifestyle. As the daughter of a Warrior – a decorated United States Air Force Colonel – I have been distinctly shaped by this powerful culture that is forever different, forever proud and forever linked to a life not known by most. I have lived across the globe, learning to be flexible and able to adapt quickly, while living on the edge of “history in the making.”
I consider volunteering to be the fabric of my life. I founded the Wilmington NC Pet Food Pantry, which provides dog and cat food for families in temporary hardships. The Pantry serves New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick County’s. I have served on the Board of Directors for Paws Place Dog Rescue, Board of Directors for my Home Owner's Association, Board of Realtors for the regional Multiple Listing Board, and I volunteer for Street Safe.
"Shari’s strong dedication to serving others is one of her most notable attributes."
My most memorable experience as a volunteer was working in the Philippines with Operation Baby Lift, a humanitarian effort to help Vietnamese Orphans out of the war-torn country in order to protect them from the impending threats of the communist regime. Operation Baby Lift has been coined by some as “one of the most humanitarian efforts in history.”
I am an avid equestrian who began riding when I was 8 years old. My parents encouraged me to learn the true definition of hard work, dedication, and commitment, which resulted in them gifting me, my first horse. I have competed both nationally and internationally. Since 1996 I have focused on Dressage, a very competitive equestrian sport known as the horse and rider performing Horse Ballet.
I am married to Rob Cutting. We have two children, Jennah and Ryan. Ryan served in the USMC and is in the Oil and Gas Business in Texas. Jennah is an Emergency Room RN and completing her Masters in Nursing. I couldn't be prouder.
